Services

At Baystate Audiology we offer a range of hearing health services including hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, musician's earplugs and custom earplugs.  On your initial visit, our licensed audiologist will perform a diagnostic hearing evaluation.  The results will help us determine the type and severity of your loss and which hearing aids would best fit your needs and lifestyle.
Certain test results may require further testing and/or a medical referral.

Hearing Evaluations

A full hearing evaluation by a licensed audiologist.  The information from these tests will be used to determine if there is a hearing loss, the type and severity of your loss and whether you will benefit from hearing aids.  Our audiologist will review your results with you following the evaluation.

Hearing Aid Recommendations

Recommendations of hearing aids based on your hearing evaluation and lifestyle from many of the leading hearing aid manufacturers, including Widex, Siemens, ReSound & Rexton.  Our audiologist will discuss with you the different styles, colors, technologies, and benefits to wearing hearing aids.  You will have the opportunity to demo hearing aids in the office.  Custom impressions may be taken of your ears, depending on the style of hearing aid chosen.

Hearing Aid Repairs

Some minor hearing aid repairs can be done in the office setting in a short period of time; others will need to be sent to the manufacturer for repair.  Our audiologist can help determine what kind of a repair is necessary if you feel your hearing aid is not working properly.

Hearing Aid Fittings

At the hearing aid fitting, you will receive the hearing aids that you selected. They are programmed based on the audiogram and the individual's unique lifestyle.  The hearing professional may make adjustments after you try the hearing aids to make sure the settings and fit are ideal for you.

Musician's Earplugs

Musicians practice and perform in a variety of different settings.  They are exposed to high levels of sound, sometimes for long periods, which may put them at risk for permanent hearing damage.  Musician’s earplugs are custom-made devices that help to limit the sound exposure from instruments, while still providing a rich musical experience for the performer or audience.

Custom Earplugs

Custom earplugs can be made for many activities.  A few common situations in which custom earplugs may be necessary are swim molds, hearing protection for marksmen or sleeping.
